Tokyo Guest House 2020

The room was nothing like advertised: tiny, dusty, moldy, with old beds and blankets that smelled of smoke. The first-floor hallway reeked of sewage. I got a sore throat after two nights and checked out early.

Our host, Tom was incredible and has so many stories to tell. The hospitality was amazing! The rooms are a bit smaller, however it was just enough space to get me and my partner by.

Good location near the subway making it easy to get to Shinjuku or Shibuya. The room was really clean with comfortable beds. Tom is extremely friendly and I enjoyed talking with him.

Amazing super kind and personable staff. Always smiling, offering recommendations, joking and chatting. The rooftop is unbeatable. Great way to spend an evening :D

All of the reviews saying Tom and Kimiko are the best - are true!!! They are so sweet and welcoming. When I accidentally left my shoes at the guest house, Tom was so quick to box them up and ship them to me at my next hotel. Amazing service, thank you Tom!!!!

The owners Kimiko and Tom were so nice and helpful. The room was small but it had a working AC unit and comfy beds. I had no complaints.

inappropiate zoning guest house.

The room is too small to fit the luggages.No appropriate zoning, washing basin are in the corridor-->People start using hair dryer at 6am and stop after midnight. Unable to get long good sleep.

Its very Small room for family and so much far from city. The Old guy also very Rude. Please chose another guest house. I’ll never recommend any one. He charge for everything. Even if you wanna shower he will ask money. If you wanna use kitchen you have to pay.

Guest House owned by a very friendly couple who speak very good English. Located less than 5mins from Akado-shogakkome station and less than 15mins from Machiyaekimae. Nearby neighbourhood restaurant

If the Guest house is full you can wait a bite to use the shower, so weak-up earlier to avoid that. Otherwise nothing.

The hosts were so nice. It’s an elderly couple who are the sweetest people in the world. It was outside of Tokyo but cheapest option so I stayed here.

Really really small room. Like. Really small. Lol. It fits about a twin bed only. I didn’t mind. All I did was come back to sleep there and I was out exploring all day. It was a bit surprising to see the size of the room but again I didn’t mind it at all because all I need is a bed to sleep. Nice that it’s a private room, and there is a shared bathroom with one shower with hot water the other one doesn’t. I used the hot shower daily and didn’t have a problem waiting for anyone. It was very easy.

The Staff / Owner are really nice and very helpful. Also taking time for you. Telling you also very interesting story about the place (when you ask them). Also you can bi in Tokyo Center really fast, just 2 Station with the Local Train to Nippori then with the Yamanote Line strait in like 2 Station to Ueno (near Akrihabra) or cont. to Shinjuku or Tokyo Central. Also some Convenience Stores around the place. I highly recommencement this place.

Well, it is very good booked, so it is hard to getting a booking done if you book in a high season....

The amenities were so nice to have. From a shower, washer, dryer, towels, and everything else you'd need to start/end your day.The host are extremely nice and helpful with any request or question you may have.I will 10000% be back!

You need to use the shower wisely if the place starts getting full. Just be mindful of that. They have showers on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th(?) Floor so you can always find one

the guest house is really comfortable and cozy and had its own charme (: the hosts were super welcoming and warm, the host even helped us get our luggage bag, after we lost it in the train, they were really helpful and sweet. The area is nice, between small houses and not as stressful as in the middle of the city, good to calm down after a day in the city centre.

Mr. Tom was very kind, he find a way that we can stay near in ueno tokyo.

We dont like the behaviour of Mr Tom’s wife. I booked thid because it is near in ueno tokyo. But a day before our reservation they emailed us to stay in matsudo, i thought that mastudo is near in ueno but when we arrived in the place where i got the reservation,the wife told me that they dont have vacant room. in a angry way the wife told us go to matsudo because they dont have vacant room near tokyo. Matsudo is in chiba ken which is far from ueno which is i got my reservation.
